Afternoon tea @ Hotel Du Vin
I was invited to attend afternoon tea at the Hotel Du Vin in Brighton. I’ve never had afternoon tea before as I only became a tea drinker last year but I’ve always wanted to go! It exceeded my expectations and was one of the nicest ways to spend a Sunday afternoon.
The weather was really nice in Brighton so we got to sit out on their terrace in the sun but just like any other British person I got burnt… However, that’s not the point of my post! We got to sip on a glass of champagne and choose a pot of tea – I chose a pot of passionfruit tea- which was incredible. We were then given a plate of food containing mini sandwiches, a cream cheese and salmon bagel (which are my favourite!) and the tastiest mini quiche.
We were then brought out the menu to choose a gin drink, I’m not much of a gin drinker after a heavy gin-fuelled night out but I chose a glass of Hendricks and elderflower and I must admit that I quite enjoyed it.
Now, the desert was the best part! Two tiers of sweet treats with candy floss sticking out the top. The gin sorbets were extremely nice as well as the scones smothered with thick cream.
